![]() “Healer” is not a true identity in SMITE, it’s just a unique quality, like “high mobility,” “high sustain,” or “buffer/debuffer.” These are things a god can do, but they are not the core of a god’s identity or playstyle. “Healer” is not a role, nor is “utility.” It’s like how Mercury isn’t just a “mobility” god mobility on its own doesn’t do much for you (movement speed Tyr aside), so he needed a different focus as well (single target damage) to be an interesting and useful character. As such, with healers not working as support characters, they need another role to fill on a team composition. SMITE is somewhat unique among MOBAs in that supports are tanky CC users, while other games often have healers in that role. Honestly take away the back off scaling make it 60%, make her birds 60% in the damage department, but she needs to have her heal at least at 75% ~ 90% scaling. Honestly, just revert her to her season 3 after passive change state.ĭedicated fans of her kit will still play her and enjoy that particular way of play style. But it sure is painful to see a god/character whom you played when she wasn't strong being converted simply because of unnecessary buffs. I personally hate the direction they are taking aphrodite towards, and have been contemplating quitting smite. Nowadays, aphro has become just another combo mage with utility, basically janus 2.0. I got into smite because of aphrodite, and her strength in strong single target healing. Her overall healing went down 30% from where she was for many seasons, where she was not strong.īut she was a diverse and unique character of her own kind. They did it first with the buff to her back off, scaling it up to 80%, and then by removing 15% off her heal.Īnd now they slice another 15% off her heal for an additional damage tick. It is kinda really sad for me to see aphrodite slowly being turned into a damage mage. Sure, aphrodite overall is in a more viable place now than she has been in the past, but she is no longer the same. TLDR: Love or hate Aphrodite, they are taking away her identity as a strong single target healer, to make her some kind of high clear DoT mage, and her identity has never been that, nor do her fans want that direction taken with her.Īphrodite is slowly being turned into another damage+utility god rather than being a healing + utility god. Or just nerf her damage on her 3, and give her an extra tick on her heal, since her damage got another tick anyway, (it would still be worse than before the nerf, but it would at least be better than it is now), and put the damage back onto her 2, since she only has two attacks anyway. So why not just revert all the changes? Honestly peopled liked her how she was before the change and she wasn't in every conquest match oppressing everyone who hated her. To be honest, she was more fun when she had bad clear and a really strong late game, I barely even played her after she was buffed since it felt dumb. Now she still has good clear only she has lost a big part of her identity as being a very strong single target healer, which is what her player base liked her for. I know there is a lot of hate for the character but I really think they are just full-stop taking her kit in the wrong direction. ![]() I've played Aphrodite almost exclusively as a conquest midlaner since season 2, and it's not working out well right now. So her healing and 2 were recently nerfed, instead of her clear, and now she feels worse than ever. ![]() So Aphrodite, as you all know, got a buff to her clear and was way too strong, since her balancing point used to be her awful clear/early game. ![]()
